Excellent productSo far I have been using this on a Jet 22-44 mainly with care, only taking 'cuts' of 1 mm or so on kiln dried oak boards at less than half full pelt conveyor speed, much as I would do with silicon oxide really. I did have one serious gaff where I had not noticed that a sawn board was a couple of mm thicker than the others I had been sanding, I had expected this to break or burn the sanding belt but actually even before I stuck the conveyor onto crawl it coped very well. I do have a very high volume extractor fitted and find that there is no build of duct within or behind the belt. So far it seems to be wearing better than tr additional abrasives, in that at the point where I would normally be expecting the replace the roll it is still going strong and is almost as good as new.

Excellent results with Jet 16-32 when used with careI bought this to load on a Jet 16-32 Plus drum sander as the abrasive supplied with the jet clogged very easily and scorched the workpiece. The first piece of Abranet was ruined by trying to take too large a cut, and having insufficient tension in the loading. After that, I ensured that the drum barely touched the workpiece highs along the entire length for the first pass, and then steadily lowered the drum just 0.2mm at a time, or about 1/8th turn of the adjuster. I usually pass the workpiece through twice for each height setting. You need to retension the Abranet strip every few passes for the first 20 passes or so to take out the initial stretch. Failure to do so will result in overlap, chewed up edges to the Abranet, and then a scorched or grooved workpiece. Good extraction is key - I use a twin motor Camvac which seems to be up to the job. Provided that you take care, this product works just fine in the Jet 16-32 without any clogging whatsoever, and provided you take the precautions described, the loadings last far longer than the proprietary paper backed ones provided with the Jet, making it more economic to use. The 80 grit is quite fierce, and I shall be loading some 120 grit for a less aggressive cut before finishing with a ROS.

Holes allow dust to compact behind paper and create ridgeSold as the paper to compliment Jet 22-44 Oscar sander....Despite being 3mm narrower than the Jet Paper supplied with the sander. The result being that it is impossible to taper an appropriate angle to secure. The mesh that it supposed to prevent clogging does the opposite and allows dust from oily woods something to grip on, slip through the holes and clog the underside too....Which creates a ridge and within a short space of time makes an unwelcome trough in the wood.

Great ProductI bought this to use on a drum sander after disappointing results with cloth backed paper, its just as good as the same paper used on power tools, highly recommended.
