In Detail

Router cutters, sawblades and machine beds can be prone to resin build-up over time especially when used with softwoods or timbers of a resinous nature. This can drastically reduce the ability of the blade or cutter to perform its task and a reliable solvent is required that will dissolve the resin and restore its performance. Axcaliber blade and bit cleaner excels at dissolving resin, pitch and adhesive residue and it further prolong the life of your expensive tooling. Some light oiling of the tools for protection will be required if they are not to be used straight away.Available in a convenient 600ml (21 fl oz)spray bottle. Give your TCT some TLC, no workshop should be without some.

Should've made up a homemade cleaner

As two other reviewers have stated, it is very disappointing. My tablesaw blade wasn't that 'pitchy' so I thought this stuff might do the trick. It certainly isn't spray on, wait few seconds, wipe off. I left it on the teeth for 15 minutes and still I had to scrub. Will try a homebrew mix in future. Sorry Axminster.

Great product

I thought I would try this bit cleaner dispite the negative reviews and I have to say I am very happy I did. I am a carpenter / joiner and have tryied most of the products on the market for cleaning blades and this is one of the best, it is a little pricy but I think well worth the price. The cleaner works quickly and did a great job removing the resins and sap glued to my blades and cutters, I found that leaving it for a couple of minutes and then use a toothbrush to gently wipe the mess away. I think some of the negitive reviews are expecting this to remove the really burnt on varnishes produced when cutting man made boards full of glue, after nearly 20 years of doing this I have never found anything that gets the really burnt on stuff off.

Axminster blade & bit cleaner

I ordered this product with pretty low expectations following other reviews but out of desperation gave it a go. i had 3 spindle moulder heads caked in burnt on resin and badly discoloured after someone had used them with softwood. They now look like new and it took very little effort, the heavy burnt on layers had to be chipped off with a piece of stick as you would expect. I am extremely pleased with the product and now use it all of the time it keeps the tooling in excellent condition.

A different use that brought results.

Slow to act on cleaning blades BUT in desperation I tried some on the green encrusted head of my brush cutter . The results were quite dramatic as the hard deposits turned to a green goo which readily wiped off with a rag.

Great Product

My experience with this product was quite different. I removed my blade, gave it a liberal coating, left it for a few minutes, gave it a whip and 90% of the resin came straight off! Some of the stubborn bits did require a second coat and a little scrub but i believe this is the same with all makes of resin cleaner.

I also think it smells lovely!
