Description

In Detail

Dale Nish came up with a great design to improve centring at the tail stock end of your lathe a while ago. We have been making these for him since then, he has now given us permission to sell them direct to you. Dissatisfied with the standard 60° cone he modified the first 8mm of point to 20° giving better penetration into the wood and reducing the wedge effect as you apply pressure to hold the spindle in place.

Excellent

This is a well made piece which surpasses the live centres usually supplied with lathes. The 60 degree angle is especially useful for close-turning on items such as fruit.
However, I urge the manufacturers to supply a plastic sleeve for the tip (for non-use but tailstock mounted) as its point is similar to a hypodermic and tends to attack the unwary!
