Description

In Detail

All three sizes of these hardened stainless steel, general duty electronic calipers measure with a resolution of 0.01mm/0.0005in. Useful features include push button metric to imperial conversion, a zero setting button and a locking screw for transference of measurements or settings. The 150mm and 200mm versions are fitted with a fine adjustment roller, which allows for quick and easy precise measurements with a clear LCD display of the result. The four measuring options are external, internal, depth and step.

Lasted for just over a year

These work fine for a while, but after just over a year the measurements started playing up. Fortunately I noticed and didn't machine anything undersize. I am going to put these in the recycling bin, and probably purchase an analogue dial caliper which will hopefully be more reliable.

Not very good

Have had this product for years, very rarely used because it was never accurate, even though it's always been kept in its original box and in a wooden workshop. So wouldn't recommend it, throwing this one in the bin.

Good performer; usually!

Arrived with dead battery and the spare included was dying fast. Axminster with their usual efficiency sent 2 more and everything worked well for a while. I have found however that this definitely does NOT like any suggestion of humidity or temperature fluctuations, which result in the display going completely wacko!

I've settled on carrying it with me to the workshop when I need it and bringing it home for rest and warmth when not needed. It seems to like this treatment . . . . so far

Great when it worked

Had an identical item and used it frequently. I don't know how long these things are meant to last but the electronic side of things first went wrong when left in my garage/workshop which is dry and never falls below 8 degrees in winter. Brought them in to the warm for a while and they worked. This situation continued for a while but was a pain in the - - -! Tried new batteries but the readings were haywire and constantly changing. Will save my pocket money up and buy a dial calliper again.

Ok

great for measuring l use them all the time. Drawback is l keep forgetting to switch them off and when l go back the battery is flat. Could do with an automatic switch off function
