Description

In Detail

The Ring Point applies pressure to your work over a relatively wide area making it particularly useful for delicate timber or soft wood liable to split. You can adjust the amount of compression to suit the timber. The diameter matches the ring drive centre allowing you to swap your work end over end without losing concentricity.

This item is tiny

I have found wood turning ring (cup) centres hard to find that have a parallel shank. However Axminster have one in stock, but the problem is this thing is very small. The ring diameter is only 10mm and the overall length is 24mm. I do not know if this will be big enough to be used to make chisel handles on the wood turning lathe. I am not even sure if the shank at 8mm diameter will be held in the chuck. Why can't Axminster give the dimensions on the item page so you know how small it is in advance?
