A case of the ship being spoilt for a ha'porth of tar!

This seems to be a great machine – at a great price.
However, its very first customer review complained that the "ruler guide on the fence [had] come off (being fixed very poorly)." As the machine's critic posted his comments over two years ago, one would have thought that Axminster would have immediately sorted the problem out.
I was offered a replacement but, as I say, (apart from that niggle) a good little machine and I didn’t want to go through with all that hassle – so I settled for a tube of glue to fix it with.

Spend More

This saw may be ok for light use, which to be fair is what it is aimed for.
However I have found problems with regular use
I have been using this saw for a while and it has not stood the test of time. Accuracy is lacking, with it developing play in the blade, even on small cuts like architrave. Features seem poorley designed, many of which are a bit clunky and get in the way, for example the clamp get in the way of the fence when not in use. Ruler guides are inaccurate, and the one on the fence has come off (being fixed very poorly). Adjustment for these is sketchy at best.
Good power and cutting dimensions for the price, but don't expect hours of accurate work from this machine.

Just the job

I had this saw given to me as a Christmas Present (lucky me)
Got it all assembled and set up on a base so I could secure it to my bench
I do segmented woodturning and used to cut the segments on my bandsaw
and then sand them on a disc sander to make up the rings
I set the saw to 22-1/2 degrees ,,cut off the segments and joined them together
Right first time !! Brilliant !! Lovely clean and accurate cuts
It will save a lot of sanding and dust and allow me to do more intricate work
Thoroughly recommended
