Description

In Detail

Hard rubber faces protect your work while the aluminium body of the protector houses a magnetic strip, which holds them in place on your vice. Essential when holding softer metals and finished work in your vice and cheap enough to be sacrificial when the need arises.

Downgraded product

If themagnets were not so weak, the jaws would have been a good product.
Don't buy them if you don't want pick them up all the time !

Axminster Magnetic Vice Jaws

Well made product but badly let down by magnets that are far too weak and this seriously affects their use. Any slight movement detaches the vice jaws from the vice and they end up on the floor. I've had other soft jaws in the past with magnets that worked well but was disappointed by the facings. So I'm still looking for the ideal soft jaws....

Good product, works well

I have a pair of these for a number of years now and find them invaluable when working with delicate parts or where you don't want to mar a tool or finish. The rubber/ plastic facing is very durable and seems to recover well after deformation. Only slight downside is the magnets are weak and I would prefer to see rare earth magnets being used instead. All that being said a good product that should last years and a must for the workshop.
