This is a well made model engineer's lathe, with a very rigid cast iron bed with ground slideways. This entry level model has a 6-step belt pulley system to control the spindle speeds, coupled to a 550W induction motor. This system is extremely quiet running and reliable. The 109mm centre height and 410mm centre distance allows the turning of some quite decent sized components. Other features of note are the 4-way indexing tool post with 12mm tool capacity, transverse adjustment on the tailstock for fine taper turning, integral rear splash guard. The metric thread pitches are 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8, 1.0, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, 2.0, 2.5 and 3mm. The thread pitches are selected using change wheels. The carriage is powered with a choice of feed rates, allowing a very fine even finish to the work. The lathe is supplied with a 100mm 3-jaw chuck with a 20mm through bore. There is a 100mm 4-jaw independent chuck available as an accessory as well as an ER32 collet chuck, quick change tool post, fixed and travelling steadies, a 200mm diameter faceplate and clamp kit. This lathe is suitable for bench mounting, perhaps with the optional drip tray, or it can be mounted onto the purpose-built floor stand that is supplied with a drip tray. This lathe is ideal for the keen model engineer, or small engineering projects and will prove to be an easy-to-use, accurate and reliable machine.
