Most important tool

I'm a new woodworker, but I'm aware that the square is considered one of the most important tools, if not the most. So when I was considering which to buy I found dozens of horror stories, but was convinced to buy a combination square because of the ability to correct it if it was out of square. There was no need with this, it was bang on the day I got it and it's still bang on now.

Great Square

An absolutely outstanding set. Everything is neatly finished and well made, there's nothing to complain about at all.

Accurate and well finished

This is a nicely made and well finished set. The markings are easy to read, but fine enough to give good accuracy. It has a very nice weight and a good solid feel. It comes in a nice plastic case with foam inserts to stop it getting dinged. I'm looking forward to years of reliable use.

I’m impressed

I’ve had this set and the smaller 150mm set for a year or so now and I have to say I’m impressed.
The larger did take a little tweaking to bring into truly square but if you know how to do it, it’s not difficult at all and they’re designed to be adjusted anyway.
Both squares in both sets are really quite weighty which is good. you want your able to feel in your fingers I don’t like the light weight ones.
The protractor is a really nice bit of kit as well. Small but well defined markings give accuracy. The other protractor I had could be +/- 2 degrees it was always hard to tell with the chunky white paint marks.
This set comes in a solid plastic box with foam inserts and I’ve used that since I’ve had the set.
Let me put it this way since buying these sets I’ve stopped looking for adjustable squares.
