I can only assume Mr Laycock had a faulty unit, I've had mine for 3 years and it is absolutely as accurate as the day I bought it. Definitely recommended, all faces are accurate and well machined.

It pains me to write this but the 'precision' mitre square really is appalling and I've been waiting for this since March?. It has one * star because you have to put something to place a review. I suppose the fact that it is a 'fairly' accurate 45 degrees justifies the one star!

The blade is not perpendicular to the stock so doesn't sit upright. The end of the marking blade isnt actually 90 degrees so you cant use that in any way. The base is visibly convex so loses accuracy. The long 'marking' edge is not straight and badly machined. All the component ends are badly finished, ie rough!

I'm a big fan of ATC products BUT not this.
