In Detail

A woodturning lathe can be adapted for many applications and one of the most useful additions to your woodturning lathe is a sanding table and making use of the lathe as a disc sander. A wooden disc can be easily turned for attaching the abrasive using hook and loop backing or self-adhesive discs. This support table measures 150 x 100mm with a 25.4 x 94mm tool post and fits into the tool rest banjo of your lathe. It is provided with slots for easily attaching your own supplementary table made to your own size and design. The table could also be used as a solid base for your woodcarving projects making good use of the lathe to hold it securely while work is carried out.

lathe support table

After reading some of the negativ reviews about this support table I decided to tske a chance and I am glad that I did.I have the AWVSL1000,and the table fits the banjo perfectly with no filing or sanding I had it cheked by an engener for the problems found by other users and he gave it the thumbs up.I phoned my order on the Fri,at 14.35 and recived my order (in Scotland)at 10 am the following mornning, all an allI I am 100% happy whith the table, customer services and the communications.Thank you.PETER

Poor Value

Shaft not perpendicular to table.
Welding rough
Over priced in my opinion
Does not fit the AWVSL1000 (25mmØ tool post fitting, not 25.4mm as stated by Axminster)

Will also fit 900 lathe

Be aware that you'll have to do some filing and sanding if you want it to fit the smaller aperture of a 900 lathe or similar, but it can be done (took me some time but now a perfect fit). Little overpriced for what you get in my opinion, but having the versatility to easily swing it up to my home made 30cm sanding disk arrqangement using the tool rest extension is brilliant. I've mounted a timber table with integral track so I can use a mitre gauge.

Poorly made

A good item were it not for the fact that `quality control` seems non-existent. The stem on the one I received was anything but round and wouldn`t fit. Customer Services were also up to the usual standard, informing me that a label would be posted, after which I could take the item to the Post Office. In the fullness of time I would receive a replacement. Surely it can`t be too difficult to send a replacement, together with a returns label. Disappointing !
