In Detail

These unique all-steel, folding sawhorses are immensely strong, durable and highly portable. Constructed of high-grade steel, each sawhorse can support a weight of 590kg; a pair has a capacity of 1,180kg. With their fast-open mechanism, setup is straightforward and simple. Unfolding the sawhorse reveals a material support arm at each end, designed to take 95mm high timber and 4x2 CLS timber. Alternatively, you can trim your timber to the required size. With two sawhorses, a couple of lengths of trimmed 45 x 95mm timber and a suitable sheet of ply or OSB, you can create an instant, rock solid site worktable. The sawhorse legs are telescopic, allowing you to adjust each one individually to compensate any unevenness on the ground. Also fitted with non-marking feet. Powder coating and zinc plating protect the sawhorses from corrosion and ensures a long life in a working environment. The legs fold neatly sequentially into the top rail, forming an 84 x 150 x 895mm long package, which is easily stowed in the back of a van. The sawhorses include a carry handle for easy transportation and rolled edges mean there are no sharp corners.

Sawhorse length when open: 1,070mm, minimum height: 648mm (width 464mm), maximum height: 826mm (width 622mm). The sawhorses are now fitted with non-marking feet.

Now With Feet !

Good quality, the adjustable legs allow for multiple uses. The plastic feet have been added in response to user comments

Excellent customer service

The horses are great and mine were bought several months ago.

BUT Axminster responded to comments about rubber feet and spontaneously sent me some this month as they are now part of the new model.

Thank you to an EXCELLENT company.

Need tweaking

They are fine, and work well as a pair with the wood lengths.
But really need rubber feet to stop damage if used inside, or to get petter grip outside.
Also several bolts needed tightening two reduce wobble across the braced legs. Still has some and perhaps this could be reviewed by makers with angled braces rather than horizontal ones.
But so much stronger than plastic, and easy to store when not in use, unlike wooden horses.

Really need rubber feet

At first I thought these were good quality and very sturdy however, Axminster really should have put rubber feet on these as they scratch flooring if you need to use them indoors and sink into he ground if used outdoors.
The legs also twist when you apply a load which makes things worst.
Having said that, as a temporary work bench they'll be very useful and worth the money.

Does not fit 45 x 95mm timbers

These are decent quality on the whole, though a complete faff to set up and take down as they stick. But once up they are sturdy and well made (would be even better with swivel feet for unlevel ground). HOWEVER, what irked me no end was the false description of these as able to house 2 lengths of 45 x 95mm timbers - I even went and bought such timbers especially and was mighty pee'd off that they nowhere near fit. The openings or hooks for the timber braces is just 41mm wide and not 45 as advertised. Quite why they are advertised as such baffles me, But, if that doesn't bother you they are pretty good solid horses for the money.

Axminster reply

Standard CLS 4 x 2 timber also fits perfectly
