In Detail

This is an updated and improved version the carpenter’s mitre square. The traditional blued carbon steel blade is now polished 1.5mm thick stainless steel. Bluing gave some corrosion protection but could not eliminate it. Four brass rivets permanently fix the blade to the hardwood stock. The fixing ensures the mitre square will remain accurate throughout its working life. The end of the stock has brass inserts on each side for added protection. Use this tool in the construction of mirror and picture frames and when installing mouldings. Size: 280mm (11").

Don't bother.

Sorry Axminster but the finish on these is shocking.
I'm just returning one for the second time. The brass fitting on the bottom of the stock is glued on and the glue is every where.
There's gaps between the brass and the stock where the glue hasn't run and it looks like it's been hand finished on a machine by someone that really doesn't care.
The bottom of the stock on the second one ordered is nearly 2 mm out through what looks like over sanding. The first one ordered was badly finished on the edges of the blade giving different levels of light reflection when placed up to a saw blade making it look like there was a gap at the bottom when there wasn't.
All in all a waste of time.
