In Detail

These general duty steel squares have hardened steel blades securely riveted onto a steel stock. Although intended primarily for sheet metal work use they are also very popular with cabinet makers who have a need for a square which will hold its accuracy over a long period of time. Unlike conventional joiner's squares they are accurate on both the inside and outside edges. Their realistic price and good level of accuracy make them exceptional value for money.

.. An engineer would not use it. But all said it was ok, just very slightly out on both inside and outside faces. But for £6 what do you want

Not Square

Recently purchased the 450mm square unfortunately its not, leaving me frustrated backing track on work - very disappointing Axminster!

Mixed results

2 1/2 stars actually.
One (4") more or less perfect as far as I can tell (parallel scribed lines both ways very close together on a straight edge), next (6") was out of square.

After reading the other reviews I hesitated but bought a 250mm square. Whilst not of the highest quality, cosmetically it is a little rough, it is accurate and entirely fit for purpose. Very good value for money.

Not square

(Soba brand) Yup, mine (4") wasn't square either!
You can't really give more stars for the quality or the finish or the packaging - it either is square, within my ability to measure, or it isn't any good. Cumulative errors just mean components that don't fit together properly.
