In Detail

Bevel edge chisels made using Bahco's own high alloyed steel. The finely ground blades are slightly thicker than normal and the bolster slightly heavier, these two factors combining to give a chisel with excellent balance and a high degree of precision. The two component handles, as one would expect from a leading exponent of ergonomic tools, are shaped to be comfortable and impart maximum control whether using a mallet to strike the tool or carrying out a delicate paring task. All Bahco 424P chisels are supplied with a protective holster that can be hung from the belt or on the workshop wall.

I bought a set of these chisels a year ago in a box ,and I have a few of their chisels from 1963 onwards ,buying them was a mistake they have not got a shark motif on them its just a fish ,nitty gritty they are rubbish not worth the money cheap chinese chisels are better ,I sent an email too them and got blanked so their after service is also useless.

High feelgood factor

These chisels feel right in the hand - they're fairly hefty and the handles are very comfortable. They are equally good at chopping and at paring, and keep a good edge.
One gotcha is that the two I have taper in their width - that is the chisel is 1mm narrower at the handle end. If you are using a jig such as the Tormek blade holder to sharpen them, then you have to allow for this or you'll grind them out of square

Exellent

Exellent chisels, sharpen well and hold a good edge. Handles can take full on bashing, morticing ancient oak with 35 mm blade, bits chip off but not often. also the holster offers great protection. I have been in the trade for many years, tried numerous brands & now I wouldn't buy anything else

Bahco 424P - good all rounder

A reliably tough, strongly made tool with good steel that takes and holds a nice edge. Blades aren't bevelled as much as I'd like, but the edge holding and overall usefulness make this a buy I don't regret. Probably better balanced in larger rather than smaller sizes, because of the weighty handle. Sharpens well on fine (red) DMT diamond stone.
