In Detail

Bosch Professional 3 Year Warranty (Registration Required)

The Bosch GCM 12 SDE professional dual bevel mitre saw guarantees precision and versatility. It offers a massive 120mm depth or 400mm maximum width of cut. The bevel and mitre cutting facility on both sides have indents at common angles. A laser line projects the cut line across your work-piece. Both sides of the table have pull out extensions to give extra support to longer workpieces. Variable speed control featured on the 230V option allows the cutting of a wider variety of materials. A well-designed dual dust extraction system helps keeps your working environment clean. The spindle lock combined with an SDS blade nut makes blade changes fast and tool-less. The integral carrying handle makes transportation easier and safer.

Robust, Accurate, does the job

I bought this saw 9 months ago and have used it a lot in that period (I am a weekend woodworker not a professional). I spent some time looking at the range of larger higher spec mitre saws in store and based on price, features and great build quality selected this saw. I particularly liked the very well constructed slide mechanism which I felt would provide greatest accuracy whatever compound angles being cut. The blade which came with the saw was also very usable and lasted well. Accuracy is good, everything seems to be adjustable and have only needed to reset once in the period I have been using it. As mentioned in another review, the Laser light isn't brilliant, is very difficult to see in brighter light and in my case shows only one side of the blade (this is reflected in many other reviews as well). Overall it has been great to use, accurate, reliable and I can see this continuing for many years to come. This saw is heavy, if you do not plan to mount permanently, but to move it around, you will need a wheeled frame (I bought an Axminster frame (Code: 101695) with support extensions rather than Bosch - cheaper and more compact but maybe slightly less stable and robust).

Best large mitre saw on the market

I didn't go in to the store to buy this saw. I was going to get a festool kapex. However when compari g the 2 saws side by side the bosch just felt like a much better quality product. All the adjustments are intuitive and easy to use and mine was accurate right out of the box. It looks easy to adjust everything anyway even if thatvwasnt the case. My only criticism is the laser is hard to see if it is sunny out. A shadow line like the new festool uses would be better. Would definitely buy again or one of the smaller ones.
