Does what it saysHaving never used a heat gun for paint removal I was a bit nervous. Turns out it is far easier than I had ever thought. I bought this heatgun to do a large area of paint removal on the panelling by our stairs and it dealt with everything brilliantly. I was using it for long periods constantly at the highest setting, looking at 45-60 minutes almost constant and it has held up perfectly. It is comfy to hold and the shielding helps protect both you and anything nearby. The front plastic cowl does get hot but not dangerously so. It throws out more than enough heat to rapidly blister and melt 115 years worth of paint and varnish. If laid on its side on a flat surface the hot metal nozzle is kept away from said surface. A good working tip is to run it on its cold setting after finishing, to help cool down the element and avoid heat build up within the tool. All in all, a reliable tool that performed above and beyond what I expected.
