I hae used a set of the bi-metal hss holesaws for plenty of wood and plastic jobs. I bought them (not cheap) as I am a plumber and the fact that they advertised them as able to cut stainless/mild steel etc. 2 cuts of 6mm mild steel with the 15mm holesaw and the teeth are wrecked. I used a proper pillar drill set at the normal slow cut speed for steel (I also do steelwork/welding). I had to go out and try to replace the cutter but could only find the Irwin equivalent which I bought (the job had to be finished). Fantastic - did the job and has continued to do more mild steel without compromising the teeth. I won't bother with the Bosch ones again. As they wear out (which shouldn't take too long if the last one was anything to go by) I will replace them with Irwin tools.

When making small items in stainless 316L, for deck hardware and such, these holesaws are the only ones that will not wear out instantly. Do use a pillar drill and lots of cutting fluid, of course.
