Letter opening kit

I purchased two of these kits then read the reviews when I went on the site to download the instructions, which Axminster put as a download for most of the kits they sell.
So I followed the instructions to the letter which were easy to understand, in a short time I had finished the letter opener. The comments about the blade not staying tight is understandable, as the threaded part is flat so the threads are only on the top and underside so the contact area is very limited, I am going to put some 2 part epoxy on the threads to help keep it from coming undone, after all there is no reason to unscrew the blade from the handle, Is there? I am very pleased with the matching Pen, Pencil and letter opener set. Roll on Christmas!!

Don't bother

I wish I'd have took notice of the other reviews before I decided to buy this excuse for a letter opener,, what an utter complete waste of money this item is, very poor quality when trying to put the last bits together it wouldn't tighten up stayed very loose,,not only did I waste my time making it I wasted a very good blank I could have used for something else,,,,so please don't bother,,YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR TIME

Letter opening kit

Brought 5 of these but had numerous issues from blade not locking and lose fitting parts and bushes had to epoxy blade in. On all the kits.

To be avoided

I purchased a batch of 10 letter openers by Craftprokits and would never do so again. They are permanently banned from my re-order list.

Although the overall appearance of the item is acceptable (hence the purchase), assembly was an absolute nightmare. The blade screws into the handle but regardless of how gently or forcefully I attempted to fasten it/them, the entire letter opener would "wobble" without a copious amount of superglue, The plating was also extremely thin and some of it was buffed away by my White Diamond buffing wheel.

A big no-no in my book. There are better letter opener kits available out there.

Very poor

I use lots of Axminster kits which are first class but this is useless unless you have a mandrel and all the bushes. The brass tube is not meant for the standard pen mandrel. Disappointed
