In Detail

N.B. Each kit is supplied as the components only and does not include the material / blank.

A great value kit available in a chrome or gold finish which, when combined with a well grained timber or acrylic blank, makes up into a very attractive looking project. The atomiser measures 18mm diameter by 87mm long and we would recommend a wood blank of around 30mm diameter by 80mm long for turning both the body and the cap. The perfume or aftershave is stored in a small glass vial inside the atomiser to prevent contact with the metal parts. We recommend using material approximately 30mm in diameter by 80mm long to allow for decorative woodturning on the barrel and cap. 15mm drill required. Filling funnel supplied. When using a mandrel to make these kits, bushing set 504486 will be required.

Don't give these as presents

Didn't find it too difficult to make these but the major weakness is that they are not fit for purpose. I have made more than 10 now and ALL of them will only retain the perfume for short lengths of time. The feedback I have had from friends/relatives is that they will leak if not kept perfectly upright. I have experimented with various small rubber washers to try and improve this but with no success. The conclusion is that they look nice but you might as well keep your perfume in a paper envelope.

Perfume Atomiser

Thought I would give it the benefit of the doubt, however after spending ages again turning and getting a good finish on the wood only for the top to scratch the parts once more ruining the end result, was asked by a friend to make one, too embarrassed to give it to her as it's already scratched the gold part where the cap slides down, waste of money and very poor design.

Perfume atomiser

Bought both of the gold and silver plated atomisers, the gold plated is a better quality product, however the silver plating peels off during assembly, very poor quality and wouldn't recommend.

poor quality

1 on 3 has the cap too tight for the body, making them difficult to open smoothly. the parts are not precise enough for a perfect fit.
for every single one of them, when you remove the cap you scratch the metal part a bit every time, so you try it and you sell it already scratched. it's not cheap and not good for selling, cause for the price you sell it the quality is definitely too poor. very disappointed, pity. the idea was nice but I won't suggest it to anyone.
