Festool Battery problemsMake sure the battery is fully engaged in the charger. It slides most of the way and then needs a firm push, you should feel it click into place.

Anyone else having problems.I recently purchased a Festool Cordless Circular Saw. After a couple of months I too seem to be having issues with these batteries. Not sure if I am doing something wrong apart from maybe Ripping with the 48 T blade supplied, which I know doesn't help. It seems to be a bit of a fiddle to get the battery to fit on the charger. Often after a few minutes the red light comes on the charger, indicating a Fault/ Overheating. When I slide the battery off and then put it back on, it carries on charging. This can happen several times during a charge, so you need to keep an eye on them for 3 hours, to ensure the battery has not stopped charging. Even with 2 Fully charged batteries the saw struggles sometimes on the first cut that lasts more than 10 seconds. The blade is brand new and I have definitely not hit any nails. The manual is a bit confusing, it says when the Green flashes Fast the battery if Fully charged. This is incorrect, they mean the charger is charging at full power. When the battery reaches 80% capacity, the charger slows down as does the Green light. When the battery is fully charged you will see a Steady Green light. Maybe someone at Festool could comment on this problem as I do not seem to the only one having this issue. Please don't let my review put you off buying the Festool cordless, it is a fantastic piece of kit especially when matched up with the Guide Rail System.

They don't work!I have brought 3 of the 18 volt versions with Festool drills and a jigsaw in the last few weeks, all of them showed as faulty when I came to re-charge them. One has already been returned but it took Festool over 2 weeks to replace it. Not sure why Axminster couldn't replace immediately but now have to return another 2, in the meantime the drills and jigsaw are of no use.
