This RO150FEQ Rotex sander from Festool is more powerful, economical and ergonomic and few other sanders offer such control and high finish. Rotex was the very first geared eccentric sander and set ground-breaking standards with its innovative 3-in-1 principle. Coarse sanding, fine sanding or polishing, it does the work of three tools. The powerful motor and long life gear unit gives high performance under load, fitted with an MPE 'MULTI-JETSTREAM 2' sanding backing pad.
The MULTI-JETSTREAM 2 pad works using intake air and exhaust air to generate airflow transporting the sanding dust away from the pads surface so that the abrasive wears evenly without clogging as well as keeping the surface at a low temperature. The result is almost 100% dust extraction for an improved rate of material removal, a better finish and a healthy working environment. Made from MPE high tear resistant material the pad is also very durable.
Supplied with MPE sanding base (soft) , sanding sheet, edge protector and Systainer® T-LOC SYS3 storage case.

A powerful beast.A cracking sander and polisher that transforms wood from rough to smooth in minutes. Very smooth running, very powerful but using coarse grits it can wander if not held properly. The addition of the outrageously expensive front handle really does make a difference to the handling and control of the very aggressive rotary mode. The Rotex, fitted with the hard rather than soft pad is excellent for edges, leaving them crisp and square, and the ability to change from direct rotary to eccentric drive is superb. Dust collection, connected to a Midi, is unbelievably good and the smooth start motor allows you to start and stop with total control on the work piece. I am so impressed with this sander using Granat abrasives that I have just bought its smaller brother the Rotex 90. That too is a cracking tool.

A smooth rideMy bosch gex 150 died after 11 years of heavy sanding and I was reluctant not to replace like for like. The last few tools that I'd bought have all been festool and I've been really impressed with their performance, build quality and design so I thought I'd spend the extra and get the rotex 150.

Amazing Performance, Great valueI always enjoy using Festool products for the first time. Even with very high expectations I had, the Rotex 150 certainly didn't fail to please. The performance is flawless, dust extraction superb, and the finish achievable excellent. Some reviewers comment on the cost of the unit -personally I find Festool products to be both great performance and value. The quality of the r & d that go into the products is really noticeable compared to other manufacturers; they just do what the they set out to do with superb efficiency. Even using the sander as a keen DIYer like myself, I know it will provide an excellent service for years to come.

Dust free sandingHaving filled the house with dust once too often during prep for decorating a dust free sanding option was explored. Pleased to say that the Rotex has met with approval from SHMBO. Abrasives seem to last a long time too. Additional information can be found online that explains the bewildering range of abrasives available, which only adds to the versatility of this sander. As usual with Festool, well made and quiet. Old orbital and belt sanders now in the "reserve" collection.

great sanderBought a Rotex 150 a few weeks back and it knocks spots off my old Metabo 450. Used it with the bumper attachment to sand some purlins up against a freshly painted ceiling. It removed paint drips and left the purlins looking clean as a whistle with no marks on the ceiling and no dust in sight.
