I couldn't do without this now

As someone has already written in a review "Want one, get one, realise you always needed one", I couldn't agree more!!

I had a big job to (replacing 15 naff doors with oak doors and new oak linings and laying a solid oak floor). I didn't have access to a table saw to reduce the dimensions of either the doors, the linings or the flooring planks. I also knew that I wouldn't have a good table saw when I get to setting up my own workshop after moving house. After looking at alternatives, the versatility and capacity of this saw along with the track is absolutely phenomenal!!!

Straight from the box, the saw is easy to use, the blade is spot on, giving beautiful clean cuts time and again (even through 36mm solid oak lippings). Trimming the doors down to the exact dimensions is now a dream. No doors on awful angles to try plane down. No splintering from a jigsaw. Just wonderful clean, splinter free cuts.

Only caution is to make sure you use the green splinter guard on the front right of the saw plate, otherwise you can get breakout.

Would I recommend it? Yes, for sure. It will/has already replaced my need for a bench saw and freed up huge amounts of space in the process.

Want one, get one, realise you always needed one.

This saw is the absolute business. I hire ours at work whenever we need it but I long to have my own just so it's all mine. 70mm Ali sections ripped down to a factory finish, easy. Glue up ready hardwood after one pass (with a sharp blade). No more finishing. Everyone I let use it immediately says " I've got to have one of these ". Usual response to anything Festool until you realise that's a nice holiday in the sun gone. A real nice one, with the rails and extractor factored in. And then you want the router. And the sander. Still worth it though. Note everyone gives high marks for value even at these prices.

Excellent high quality build and a joy to use

I am very much a Festool fan and now only buy that brand. I had an old consumer grade circular plunge saw and found it inaccurate and difficult to use freehand. I therefore bought the Festool and am delighted by the accuracy when used in conjunction with Festool rails ...I now always use the rail ..spend the time to adjust very accurately on panels and then have full trust that the saw will cut EXACTLY AND WITH NO SPLINTERS where I want.......no fiddling, no missed cuts, it is just like buying pre cut panels in a suppliers yard...but he uses a large wall mounted panel saw! This is a must have piece of kit in my workshop and the Festool build quality suggests it will be there a long time.

I use only the Festool blade that it came with and it is perfect, and lasts for a long time without needing to be sharpened. The blades are really very good and have even withstood the occasional hit into a hidden screw when sawing old recuperated timber but I would not recommend doing that!

Cuts like a dream, the finish is superb cross cut and ripping. Bought a 2nd 1.4m rail + jointer & cramps for reducing doors and ripping ply etc, get them too, job done!
I have come to depend on this fantastic machine, well worth the hefty price tag.
I tape an old bosch vacume to the extractor. ++
