How do I apply?
Orders can be placed on our website, by visiting a store or calling us. However you choose to apply it's important to make sure the details are accurate and you use your full name and address. In all cases we will require an electronic signature.
Click the finance icon as you browse products to explore your finance options. Then simply add tools and machinery to your basket, checkout securely and choose your preferred Axminster Finance option at the payment stage. All you need to do then is complete the online Axminster Finance application form. Online orders will be delivered to your home address.
In person at an Axminster store
Discuss your machinery and finance requirements with an Axminster Expert in your nearest store. Store orders will be available to collect from the store. Sorry, Axminster Finance cannot be used for Click & Reserve orders.

Who can apply for Axminster Finance?
You will need to be:
- 18 years or older
- A permanent UK resident or a UK resident for 3 years or more
- Able to make regular repayments by Direct Debit
- In regular employment (minimum of 16 hours per week) including self-employment, or in a permanent residence with your spouse/partner who's in regular employment. If you are retired and receive a pension, or registered disabled and unable to work, V12 Retail Finance may ask for proof of sufficient income
- Have a debit card or credit card in your name and registered to your address and have a bank or building society current account
How long does it take to process my application?
You should get an instant answer on whether your application for finance has been successful. In some cases, V12 – our 3rd party financial services provider - will need to look at the application in more detail before making their decision.
You will be sent an email to confirm the status of your application as soon as it has been processed. The V12 office is open 9am and 8pm, Monday to Friday (excluding Bank & Public holidays), 9am and 6pm on Saturday, or 10am and 5pm on Sunday.
Once my application is approved, what happens next?
If your initial application is successful, V12 will verify your identity by authorising the deposit against a credit or debit card that you own. This helps protect you and us against fraudulent finance contracts, the details are used to check that they are valid and registered to your address.
If successful and your application is approved, you'll be asked to accept the terms of the contract - once you select YES you will return to the checkout and will proceed through to the completion of your order following which your order will be dispatched for delivery to your home address. Following completion, you will receive an email with a link to download a copy of your credit agreement for your records.
What happens if my application is declined?
Applications may be declined for a number of reasons, including miss typed information, or not meeting the specified requirements. Other conditions may also apply, we cannot guarantee that your application will be accepted. If your application isn't successful, you can still purchase the item in full with a valid credit or debit card or via PayPal.
If your application is declined, it's usually for one of the following reasons:
- You do not meet the eligibility criteria;
- Adverse credit reference agency information;
- Your credit score;
- You are considered to be overcommitted financially; or
- Your existing account performance with other lenders.

Can I request delivery to an address other than my home?
We can only deliver goods to the home address of the applicant.
Can I change my order in part or whole after applying for online finance?
No, it will be necessary to cancel your order and start as if it were a new order. If you've already received confirmation of approval for online finance by the time you decide to change your order, then the finance decision will stand from your original application provided the order value has not increased.
Can I cancel my order in part or whole after applying for online finance?
Should you cancel your credit agreement after receiving products from us, then you will be liable to pay us in full for the product (cancellation rights may apply).
Are the goods I've ordered set aside for me until the approval process is complete?
No, goods are allocated to your order only when your completed and eSigned agreement is confirmed and the deposit (if required) processed.
What if I don't like the item?
Unfortunately, any products purchased using finance are excluded from the 30 day returns policy.
