In Detail

FISCH Wave Cutter Forstner Bits have been seriously engineered. The bits are forged, before being CNC ground and then hardened meaning; accuracy and sharpness are a premium. The unique 'Wave' cutter design has many benefits compared to a more traditional Forstner. The serrated 'Wave' edge generates considerably less heat and allows cutting speeds to be increased with less effort needed to achieve each hole. Metric sizes have 8mm shanks up to 30mm diameter and 10mm shanks there after. All have an overall length of 90mm. Made in Austria. For the best results, use in a pillar drill.

Great bits

I've only used these Fisch forstners with hard woods and they are so nice to use. Literally glides through the wood effortlessly and the hole they leave is so clean and crisp. A total joy to use, get one, get one now! ☺

Definitely worth the money.

I am luthier at DK Custom Guitars and I have high demands on precision and quality. These drill bits are really precise, they leave a clean hole, the chips are very well drained, they do not heat up. Definitely worth the money.

Fisch Forstner bit 40mm

Bought a cheap Asiatic set of bits and just burnt wood and made acrid smoke !
No amount of sharpening and tweaking made any difference.
Bought a 40mm Fisch to cut out for Tea lights, fantastic piece of kit does what it says on the tin may seem pricey but well worth the investment.
I will be replacing all my forstner's with this brand

One of the best Forstner type bits I've ever purchased.

I surfed the net to get a Forstner bit to cut holes for Tealight candles and found all sorts of junk.
Returning to Axminster I read the couple of available reviews and thought why not ?
The cutter is pretty well designed to maximise on cut cleanliness and shaving removal.
It provides an exceptionally clean cut with little vibration and doesn't have that annoyingly deep center hole you get with flat bits.
I didn't think it was particularly cheap but none of the decent brands were.
No regrets with this cutter, it does the job with precision and stays clean.

Fisch Wave Cutter Forstner Bit - Metric 38mm

After using a cheap forstner bit that burnt the wood and then scraped the ashes off I decided to try one of these - WOW - this is a seriously good drill bit. Not only did it cut the hole the right size (unlike the cheap one which was 0.5mm undersized) it was so sharp that it cut through white oak like a pencil in a pencil sharpner - expensive but worth it. I'll be back.......for more
