Description

In Detail

The Henry Taylor Superflute bowl gouge with its deeper flute design remains the first choice for many professional turners and has sold consistently well over the years. The Long & Strong are of a more traditional, semi-circular cross section and are still favoured by the traditionalists.

Disappointed

I was disappointed with the gouge I bought recently. It needed some work before I could use it and the handle was poorly fitted. It seems that the quality of HT tools has deteriorated in recent years. I much prefer Pfeil, they are delivered sharp and always of the highest quality.

Quality!

I would rate this as my favorite gouge as it seems stronger than the Hamlet version, thus allowing a little more distance over the tool rest.
