Made by Henry Taylor of Sheffield, the blade tapers towards the cutting edge and the back is carefully ground flat. Blade length approximately 190mm(7.1/2").

ExcellentI brought one of these to replace a tool in a vintage set that I was missing interestingly the Henry Taylor is the tool that is out of the draw most. The back took very little initial flattening as it was slightly concave as it should be. These chisels take and hold a fantastic edge mine is a daily user in my busy professional joinery shop.

First Class ProductFirst quality classic hand tool. The bevel edges are not as fine as needed for dovetails but this tool is for paring the sides of housings so the wider edges are an advantage. Handle is good shape, size and finished well. The back was nicely ground flat both across the width and the length. The 20 mm of the back closest to the handle was not flat but this does not affect the tools performance. Back and cutting edge easy to hone and polish to a high degree of sharpness thanks to the quality of the grinding. I will buy more when I need a different width.

A good paring chiselI like this tool, although the back stlll needed work to flatten and polish (I found it slightly concave side to side)
