Ground at an angle of 30°-45°, the shear scraper produces a very smooth surface prior to sanding, taking out small bumps or ripples left by a gouge. Very useful for delicately refining the final shape. The corners of the tools are gently rounded for smooth, gliding traverse along the tool rest and they have fully rounded noses, allowing cuts to be made either way dependent on grain direction.

The eliminatorI call this tool the Eliminator because after only a couple of cuts both inside and outside of a bowl end grain is reduced to virtually zero.Wish i'd bought it a long time ago because it saves me so much wasted time trying to get rid of end grain.Every turner should have it as a necessity.
