A drum sander with a full 500mm capacity (250mm x 2) well suited for use in the smaller workshop where space may be at a premium. The unit can be bench mounted or floor standing using the optional floor stand as shown. The drum is made from an aluminium extrusion and is carefully machined and balanced to reduce vibration to a minimum. A specially designed device holds the paper loading in place under tension and enables the abrasive to be changed quickly and easily. The input 1,200W motor provides adequate power for the sander and a variable speed feed motor gives excellent sanding results in nearly all types of timber. The height adjustment handle works in 0.1mm increments for extremely accurate control over both finish and thickness.

Jet 10-20 plus Drum SanderIt would be a great machine if the rise and fall leadscrew design was improved ...in spite of regular lublicating I have had a problem with the 9/16" UNF threads stripping out of the alluminium drum housing assy: making the machine useless...But a solution was at hand.

Jet 10-20 drum sanderThis is favourite bit of kit I own changing the belt are a bit awkward to change but you get used to it and I can change them in about 2 mins or less and can go though the grits very easy

JET 10-20 Drum SanderImpressed with the solidity and quietness of this machine. stalls if you try and take things too quickly but gives a good result when properly set up - take care however in making sure the drum is truely parallel to the bed or you'll get cupping in wider components if you do a double pass. I had to do the first few pieces a second time when I realised I had this problem.

Excellent machineI have had the Jet 10-20 for several months now and it produces excellent results. I use it for thicknessing acoustic guitar fronts, ribs and backs. For woods such as rosewood and other 'oily' timbers you can't really use anything finer than 60 grit and then finish off the last .5mm by hand. Really well built.
