Key Features

  • Adjustable, cast iron tables with machined finish, large 45° tilting fence
  • Maximum depth of cut planing 3mm, thicknessing 4.5mm
  • 3 knife cutter block, 5.5m/min feed rate gives a rapid, smooth cut
  • One hand operation between changing functions, fence stays on table
  • 100mm diameter outlet for efficient chip extraction on both functions
  • 307mm surfacing width, 307mm x 255mm thicknessing capacity

In Detail

The larger version of the JPT260, the JPT310 has a 307 x 255mm capacity. With the convenience of single handed table lift (no nead to remove the fence), switching from surface planning to thicknessing cannot be easier. With its long tables and precision fence accuracy comes as standard as well as a super finish every time, thanks to the 3 bladed cutter block. Easy eccentric rod adjustment of the infeed tables plus adjustment of the outfeed tables make setting of the machine a simple process. 100mm dust extraction outlet keeps the machine clean when connected to a suitable extractor system. This versatile machine features an extra large aluminum extruded fence with centered controls for quick adjustments, a built-in dust chute capable of handling both planing and jointing operations, and a powerful 2.2kW induction motor that can handle the toughest timbers. A heavy-duty, fully welded steel base cabinet houses the motor and the thicknessing table mechanism, while providing solid mounting for the associated controls and support for the surfacing tables and fence assemblies. Best of all, the fence can stay put when changing over functions. The surfacing tables are cast iron, 1,400mm long and precision planed to ensure the most accurate results. A great machine to choose for the busy trade workshop.

NB 16A Plug fitted.

Fantastic Machine!

I waited a year before writing this review to really test the Jet out. I was concerned if it would do the job as it was such good value but absolutely no regrets. It is a superb machine handling everything I have thrown at it from Oak, Walnut and really hard Iroko. Changing from planner to thicknesser takes seconds and the table settings never change meaning the top always gives a flat surface. Changing the blades is a dream, release the lock nuts and you have really accurate height adjustment with allen key bolts, it takes about 5 to 10 minutes. I cannot recommend this machine highly enough!

Solid Machine

I did a lot of research before buying this as internet review were few and far between. I looked over one instore at Nuneaton and was impressed with build quality and feel.

Has been used daily since September '11 and is a joy to use. Most peoples concern with a P/T is the conversion from one to other. It takes about 30 seconds and the jet has an advantage of the beds being joined and lifting away from you not swinging out seperatly towards you.

I had an issue with a worn drive chain tensioner which was replaced next day. The design of this part is not substantial enough and i will replace with a shop made one.

The aluminium fence has a tiny twist to it so i reset it a few times a day. Not a big issue and to be expected with an alu fence

A nice heavy machine with a good capacity which produces good results. The most convenient P/T changeover after a Sedgwick

This machine is giving me a very nice finish to my Ash with no or little sanding. It took me a lot of research before I purchased this machine but it was well worth the time as I'm really over the moon with the ease that it deals with the timber and its so easy to use when changing from planning to thicknesser
