Mortice and Tenon joints routed on the FMT Pro are immensely strong and virtually indestructible. This centuries-old joint is the thoroughbred of all woodworking joints and is used in fine furniture and cabinetmaking everywhere. Bench mounted, this jig takes up little room in the workshop and is always readily available for use with little setting up. All makes of router can be fitted to the jig using the routers side fence rod clamps. This system allows the router to be quickly fitted to or removed from the jig, no need for a dedicated router.

Well worth the investment

You can buy jigs from less than £200 upward. So is it worth spending as much as this one costs?

It depends on how many mortice and tenon joints you use. I use a moderate number and find this jig to be a very capable unit that massively decreases the time and effort in making such joints. The results are extremely accurate and highly repeatable, the unit is clearly very well thought out and as a result the initial set up time even for complicated tasks is very short. In use it is possible to produce several reasonably sized mortices or tenons per minute!

A sturdy very accurate tool that is quick to set up and use. If you are making more than a few hundred joints per year it will pay for itself in months. From the look and feel of it I suspect it will last a good number of years and therefore easily return the investment made.

Leigh FMT Mortice and Tenon Jig

I bought this from you several years ago, having seen Keith Birkett of Brimarc demonstrate it. I have not regretted my decision. It produces joints the fit of which I can only liken to Lego. It makes the production of the mortice and tenon joint so easy and accurate, a great tool all round.
