This is the newest and smallest edition to the Lie-Nielsen shoulder plane range, based on the Record 041, which was in turn based on a Preston model. This improved shoulder plane has an all metal body made from cast ductile iron, and the cap is bronze. Body is 145mm(5.3/4") long by 16mm(5/8") wide, weighs 620g, and has an adjustable mouth. The blade is bedded in the tool at 18° with a 25° bevel, making the included cutting angle 43°. This is another excellently made tool from Lie-Nielsen and is just right for trimming and fitting small tenons, dadoes and rebates.

Expensive, but a joy to useLie-Nielsen planes are not cheap, but they are lovely to use. this plane is a little gem, it's a joy to hold and so god at the job it's made for. It arrives very sharp and ready to use as do all LN planes. If you've every yearned for one of these, buy it, you won't be disappointed.
