Description

In Detail

The No. 62 combines the benefits of a bevel-up 12° blade mounting angle, a set-up which gives as much support as possible to the cutting edge, with an adjustable mouth, making the plane particularly suitable for straightening edges either with or across the grain. A toothed blade is available for this plane, which is excellent for the removal of heavy stock in difficult grain. The Hot Dog attachment available will transform the Low Angle Jack into a shooting plane. The body is ductile iron, the lever cap is bronze and the handles are cherry wood. The base is 355mm(14") long by 62mm(2.1/2") long by 62mm(2.1/2") wide.

Stunning

I bought this plane some time ago and use fairly often. Best quality and therefore best results.. Obviously not cheap but worth every penny. Using it as Shooting Planer as well, but I would recommend to buy the handle for shooting as well. Makes it more controllable. Overall an awesome product

The process is as good as the result

Received today. Straight out of the box, just slightly advance the iron and works perfectly. This is absolutely "must have" tool - never mind the price. It is worth every penny.

Beautiful tool

This is my first plane. I decided after much deliberation to go with quality and forget the price tag. I have done numerous jobs with it and every time I use it I appreciate it more and more. I plan on getting all the blades and using it within an inch of its life. It will still out live me for sure. I have very little experience in woodwork and hand tools, however I find this plane very easy to set up, it does everything I have aimed for so far. A small test cut on a scrap piece before getting into the work piece is my way to tune in the required performance and then this tool becomes really beautiful, every time. I can't wait to use it as a scraper and get that toothed blade on some rough stock. I bought this on a preface that it is the best all rounder and the desire for another plane so far holds no urgency, mainly because this tool is just too good for its own boots, really, it is !
