Impressed so far, but with minor niggles
I've had mine for a bit over a week. Mainly for paintwork, but also extremely hard wood I can't successfully finish otherwise.
It's quiet, and has a good range of speed. It doesn't vibrate much at all, compared to the DIY unit I previously had. The punch Axminster sells (#076023) works for this model: you need to open the holes out after punching to get the best from the extraction.
Extraction is good. It creates very little dust when connected to an vacuum. the paper lasts a long time and doesn't clog easily. That said, I fail to see the point of the supplied cloth bag. I tried it on purpleheart, (60 grit paper) and covered the bench with purple dust. The paper bag system may be better, but a bag support is NOT provided (cheapskate, Makita!), although it's listed as an accessory they're proving pretty hard to find.
It feels well made, and produces a good, flat finish. The lack of things that should really be included - paper punch and paper dust bag support means it only gets 4/5.
