This 620W heavy duty planer is well balanced and easy to use with a comfort rubberised grip. Depth control via the large front knob can be finely adjusted and depths of up to 2mm can be planed or rebate depth of 9mm. High cutting performance is achieved with 34,000 cuts per minute, planing width is 82mm in a single pass. Supplied with a socket wrench and blade gauge.

Good value for money

This is a very good planer overall, especially at the price. Now that I have set up the blades correctly, it gives a good smooth action and finish. The one downside is that it is extremely fiddly to get the blades set up correctly and evenly - it took me at least three attempts.

Good Tool

not my first plane, but this is the best I have used so far.
I nearly went for a 4mm plane, but they tend to be a bit heavy for single hand use, this is easy to use one handed, gives a very good finish, and due to the 50mm chip eject hole doesn't clog up, and throws the chips a long way ......... next buy must be a bag to collect all the chips !
would have been nice to have a trigger that 'locks on' and a proper Makita plastic box for it, but at this price it is a weapon you need in your collection.
