Great so farI've loved using this saw. I had trouble when buying from Amazon uk with a faulty unit but as of yet can't complain. I had a minor heart attack when the guy from axe Minster tipped the box to put it in the car. I really could have lost my temper and without doubt it was a stupid thing for him to have done, but as of yet the saw has been great. I price marched Amazon and got it for 490 ish. It's the updated model, look for the bigger instruction booklet. It signifies a new generation.

makita LS1216LThe first saw arrived and then went straight back to Axminster Due to the 1/8 of sideways free play in the saw head at the minimum extension and about 1/4 inch at the maximum extension the saw cut moves whilst cutting due to the slop in the mechanism . As expected the outstanding Axminster customer support replaced the saw

ExcellentI bought this saw back in the summer and it is just the best one I have used. Cuts are accurate and very clean. Ok even with it connected to a vacuum it still does spray a lot of dust but the it covers so many angles then it is never going to get it all. Laser is a good feature as you can set it to exactly where you want it. I little bulky to carry but with a tool like this then most of the time you set it up on a bench and leave it there.

Very pleasedNeeded a better quality workshop saw, decided to buy this one after watching online videos. ordered online. Saw cut good straight out the box, all angles are adjustable if something is not quite right. Every thing works smoothly and the capacity and features are very good. I am pleased with the saw and would recommend it.

Great UpgradeOkay so I went in to my local store with the idea of just looking as I was interested in upgrading from my Jet. I was comparing this one against the bosch. The store manager came over and had a chat and after a few minutes it was sold! He said the back fences would be square straight out of the box... He was right! In fact if you want to be really picky it was 0.01 degree out, not bad considering its been shipped from overseas in a cardboard box. A quick fiddle it's exactly true now. Didn't suffer from any sticky glides like the other reviews. This saw is packed with oodles of features which puts the bosch stuff to shame, I even compared the festool one and the makita was far better! One thing to be aware of is that this is a HEAVY saw! It's fine for me as it's going to be installed in my workshop but if I had to carry this around to site it may be a different story. Overall it's an awesome bit of kit and combined with the great service from Axminster, I am one happy camper!
