Rugged and effectiveI already had top of the range, heavy and very expensive, tungsten carbide tipped (TCT) splitting and pitching chisels but I bought this Ansell splitting chisel and matching pitching chisel for the lighter work when building a wall in Mendip grey limestone: the Ansell chisels being lighter are much easier to handle. But I was pleasantly surprised to find the the Ansell chisels hold an edge well and are rugged, so now I tend to use the Ansell chisels most and only use the TCT tools for really heavy work.
