Description

In Detail

Abranet® is a revolutionary abrasive material offering dust free sanding with no clogging. The open mesh design features thousands of tiny holes which will make sure that when used with suitable extraction the passage of dust will be incredibly efficient. Because Abranet® abrasive keeps the surface that you are sanding dust free, this results in a very uniform scratch pattern leaving an ultra smooth finish. It is incredibly durable and will last twice as long as many conventional abrasives making it very cost effective. These velcro-style backed discs are suitable for a wide range of materials including the decorating, woodworking and automotive industries.

They really work!

I've done a few reviews now of Mirka products and I keep being impressed. Using several grades with my Bosch ROS these performed with excellent, and long lasting results. They seem expensive but as they seem to last far longer than other abrasives I use, they work out cheaper. Just one quibble, it was relatively easy to cause a disc to tear at the edge when crossing over a mortise socket on a beech bench leg so more care next time. Plus point is the disc continued in use with no ill effects

Too fragile

These discs leave an excellent finish and are very durable BUT when used on a powered orbit setting they disintegrate VERY quickly (Makita BO6040) so I'm disappointed...the backing needs to be much more substantial.

Works like a dream

Using the mirka ceros sander with these discs is the best combination I have found. For dust free sanding and an excellent finish on wood or plaster.

doesn't stick

Great abrasion, but they keep falling off my festool sander. Velcro doesn't stick very well for some reason - perhaps they are better on Abranet sanders?

Tough Abrasive

I bought some of these in 80G with a flexible backing pad to try out on the antifouling on my boat, it is the only product that I have found that works on this job. The discs do not clog, the "cutting edge" does wear off a little quite quickly but then settles to a reasonable edge for a long time. A pack of ten did the job on my 6 mtr boat. You must use a power tool extractor for this job, there cant be many more toxic materials than dry antifouling! Although I've yet to use these on wood I cant see any reason why they wouldn't be excellent to use. Reccommended.
