The 15-hole configuration enables you to line up the BaseCut disc with extraction vents in most brands of 150mm disc sander. These include Bosch, DeWALT and Metabo etc, whether it is a 6, 7, 8 or 9-hole backing pad. All BaseCut Discs have a hook and loop backing. Mirka BaseCut Discs have a semi open aluminium oxide coating, which offers excellent non-clogging performance. The discs are long lasting, making them a very good all round sanding material. They are efficient with a high initial aggressive cut; their durability helps to minimise costs. BaseCut is ideally suited to a wide variety of applications, including sanding of wood and composites. BaseCut is an aluminium oxide abrasive with a resin bond on a D-weight paper backing. Grit range P60 to P120.

Very poor qualityBought these from somewhere else. I have used tens of thousands of 150mm discs in my job, in all the grits, all the abrasive materials up to P1500, these are the worst performing discs I can ever remember using, really, really poor. I'm not even convinced they are good value on resinous timber/bitumen/oil/wax/filler as the blunt so quickly. I tested them side by side with some 3M cubitron II purple in the same grit (P80) the cubitron lasted 8 times longer and sanded faster, these are terrible. If you don't want to splash out on Festool lookout for 3M 245, 3M 255P+, 3M Cubitron II or Mirka Q Silver which look similar to the basecut but are much, much better performing discs. Avoid.
