Easy to use water-based filler

I bought this filler to fill small gaps in some Oak display cases between the frame and a mitered moulding that was applied to the perimeter. I had previously been using sawdust mixed with PVA glue, but the PVA did not sand or take the Dark Oak stain up well, I also needed something to use as a grain filler for small areas that has 'shakes' in the surface that were difficult to remove. I had also tried filler sticks but these did not set hard enough for my liking.

The filler smells really similar to good old fashioned Brummer Filler (which I had considered buying) and behaves in a very similar way. The Colour match on the light Oak is really good (as previous reviewer states). It fills and grain fills really well, sands really easily and takes up stain like a sponge, this needs to be borne in mind as it will always go the darkest shade of the timber (great for knots) it also accepts an oil finish such as Osmo or Holzol without any issues.

Additional thoughts:
This is not a robust 2 part 'bodge it and scarper' filler and in my opinion is only really useful for sophisticated work which is great because that's what I really needed.
It sands down really easily and only needs to be worked with 240grit max
It can be thinned and kept alive with water indefinitely
I would buy this product again, as the colour match on light Oak was so good (despite looking yellow when raw, it sets to a great match) but I wouldn't pass up Brummer either as they have a more extensive range of colours that could be more applicable.

Very useful product

Light oak matched my timber well but to be safe I mixed sanding dust with it for an almost perfect match. It sanded very well and accepted stain perfectly. Now, finished with Polyvine wax satin, I can't find the repairs. Brilliant!
