Omas 426 Door Set

This is an exceptionally well thought out cutter system which uses disposable tungsten carbide tips to ensure continuity of accuracy and fit without the need for costly resharpening. The set consists of two discs, one a profile cutter and the other a rebating/grooving cutter. The profile disc is supplied with four fully interchangeable profiles which are symmetrical about the moulding, enabling the profiling disc to be also used as the tenoning disc. A further, more interesting, application of the set is that, by carefully machining the profile and individually machining the tenons, a long through tenon can be made which is much stronger for heavier weight doors.
For a curved headed door, the bearing ring 426E is available. This can be used to follow a purpose made profile jig to the required pattern. Finally, if so required the profile disc 426B can be used to raise the panel and again, if required, the 426E bearing ring can be used to profile a curved head. For mass production where panel templates have been made, the main panel can be rough cut, the accurately cut template fixed to the panel and, utilising a 426B profile disc, 426C panel trimming cutter and 426D bearing assembly, the panel can be trimmed to size exactly and moulded all in one pass. All in all this set is the perfect solution for making lightweight panel doors quickly and efficiently and, with a range of four mouldings as standard in the set, variation of style can be achieved without excessive cost. Max timber thickness 22mm. Tooling diameter is 160mm.
