Veritas Beading Tool
Putting final fine detail on any piece of furniture is best done by hand. Putting stopped flutes on a table leg with a router must take nerves of steel and bags of time to set up. However, with the Veritas Beading Tool this task can be done simply and quickly and you can see what you're doing. Any of the standard cutters, or one specially ground to suit, are clamped in the centre post at roughly the distance to be worked. The head can then be adjusted to the correct position. The cutter can also be partially recessed into the head for cuts almost at an edge. Made from rock maple with brass fittings, the beading tool can be used on both push and pull strokes with the grain on any woods as well as across the grain on timber like cherry or maple. The hardened spring steel cutters are 5/8" wide. Supplied with one 3/32" single point beading cutter and five blanks. Also available are beading cutters, fluting cutters and triple reeding cutters.
