Veritas Sliding Bevel

As locking mechanisms go this one is pretty good. A cam-lock mechanism is cast from silicon bronze and let into the body. The silicon bronze cam-lock lever is set flush with the stock and there is a recess provided so that the user can release the blade without losing a thumbnail. The wooden stock is resin impregnated, for strength, durability and stability and the 250mm(10") blade is of stainless steel.
