Festool DF 500 Q-Plus DOMINO Jointing Machine

The 'DOMINO' is a new unique jointing system using oval domino shaped wooden dowels to join timber giving very strong accurate and precise joints, combining exceptional versatility with simple handling for maximum precision. The DOMINO has a patented routing principle with a wide range of adjustment options to make it extremely easy to use. From the precise positioning of the first DOMINO, use the first slot as a locator so that the joints have no side movement when glued. The machine's fence can be adjusted to cut slots centrally in 5 preset timber thicknesses and manually adjusted for other thicknesses. The dowels can be placed centrally, offset, in pairs or groups. There are retractable stop pins to help with positioning from the first cut dowel hole. The jointer fence can be adjusted to 5 preset angles and is also infinitely variable between 0 and 90°. There are 5 different sizes of DOMINO available. The DOMINO comes with support brackets that expand the contact of the jointer to the work surface giving greater stability, a D5 cutter for the 5 x 30mm DOMINO and is packed in a SYSTAINER® case.
Optional accessories include: the Trim Stop to help align narrow wooden strips between 22 and 70mm centrally plus it can be used for mitre cuts. The Cross Stop is used for repeat hole spacing between 100 and 205mm without the need for marking the work. The handrail fence has been designed for use on round workpieces with a diameter of 35 - 60mm, the fence attaches to the tilting base on the jointer without the need for tools and long holes can be routed quickly for the Domino biscuits, suitable for both straight and mitred joints. An assortment of DOMINO dowels in a SYSTAINER® storage case (1105 dowels in total) is available, and the DOMINO cutters are also available individually: 5, 6, 8 or 10mm.
