Jet 54 A 150mm Planer

Both these planers have a long finely ground table with an extra long cast iron fence for maximum accuracy and straightness. The fence is unusual in that unlike many other planers it tilts inwards ensuring that the work is never able to slide away from the fence. Positioning and locking of the fence is done with cam action handles that are quick and easy to adjust. The cutter block has three knives and the resulting finish is excellent with a near ripple free cut in most timbers. The knives are set and adjusted with a blade setting jig so that all three knives can be set to cut together to obtain a smooth cut. Both tables are independently adjustable and can be dropped away for ease of blade setting as well as cutting stopped chamfers. The quality of build is excellent and the machine is a fine addition to any workshop where straightness of material is a major requirement. Supplied complete with HSS knives, blade setting jig, dust extraction hood and service tools.
