The Bosch Palm-Grip router is compact and comes with plenty of potential. The 600W motor is almost as powerful as a lot of other 1/4" routers and is more powerful than many laminate trimmers.

You could be forgiven for mistaking the Bosch Palm-Grip router for a laminate trimmer. It can be used as such and will tackle the job very well, but a closer look reveals this is much more and the line between laminate trimmer and small industrial router is very blurred.

The side fence attaches to the router base using a simple wing nut, the face of the fence is 160mm long and 24mm tall providing a large surface area to guide and keep the router steady. The horizontal fence adjustment gives an impressive150mm overall reach. Unusually for a router fence, this can be adjusted vertically, allowing it to be used with thinner work pieces.

Very easy to handle and control and it’s good for working in confined areas. It has that handy feel which instills confidence in the user. We’re sure it’s soon to be the first port of call for smaller routing tasks, rather than dragging the big guns out every time we want to run a chamfer.
