Axminster Cone Drive

Used in conjunction with the Ring & Centre Point Live Centre, this friction drive is ideal for small spindle turning. As the points on both ends are the same, the timber can be quickly reversed if the grain happens to be running the wrong way. Two other benefits of the drive are (a) that the work can be loaded and loaded quickly when doing a production run and (b) the workpiece will stop revolving in the case of a mishap, a good safety feature for the novice turner.
