Hold Down Feather Boards

Two hold-in or hold-down feather boards suited for routing applications. A feather board is normally made from a strong and flexible material and consists of a series of very close saw cuts so the material looks a bit like a feather. By pressing the feather board up to the work a constant and even pressure is obtained without the need for springs which would, if caught by the cutter, damage the cutter, spring and the user. The white nylon version measures 195 x 80mm and has two upright slots and one horizontal slot for securing to fences or tables. The oak feather board (42mm wide x 270mm long) is supplied with a hold-down spring and an expanding 19mm bar which fits into a slot machined into the table. When the knob is tightened the bar expands and locks the feather board firmly in place. Both are easy to use, very safe and also improve accuracy by keeping the work pressed tight against the fence.
