Joseph Marples No 4 Cutting Gauge

The design of the stock and stem is the same as the Joseph Marples No 2 Marking Gauge except that the steel pin has been replaced by a knife, held in place by a brass wedge. As with the No 2 the head is fitted with brass wear strips for long life and the locking screw is on one side of the head rather than the back making it much easier to handle. Maximum capacity 185mm.
