A well balanced light but powerful 18V saw from Makita, the power comes from lithium Ion battery technology which are up to 40% lighter than metal hydride batteries, delivers better service life and is lighter for the tool. The 165mm blade will give a maximum depth of cut of 57mm and a 45° cut of up to 40mm, this well designed saw has a sturdy base plate which is easy to angle, comfortable handles, electric brake, light and is supplied with a guide fence. Fantastic litte saw
"Out of the box this is an increadibly compact and lightweight, but sturdy saw. I had my doubts about cordless saws after using ni-cad versions in the past, but the lithium-ions are fantasic and the results speak for themselves. The saw ate it's way through over 30' of very green iroko at a depth of nearly 2" before the battery ran out. The good thing about these batteries is that once they do (eventually) run out they go straight out rather than fading away, no messing about. 22 minutes later and you're ready to go again. Being left handed, certain power tools can be quite tricky for me to use but with it's ergonomic trigger and safety and simple design, there's nothing to obscure your vision, which is enhanced by the LED job light. All in all an easy to use, brilliant little saw not to be under estimated!"
